William W. Young

March 27, 1958 — December 25, 2021

William passed away unexpectedly on December 25 th , 2021, in his home in Deptford NJ, at the age of 63.

He is survived by his brothers Steve and Rudy, his sisters Deana and Lisa, his cousins Jack and Mark, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Willie lived a life of service for others. As a member of the United States Marine Corps he rose to the rank of Corporal. In 1986 Wille earned a Meritorious Mast for consistently performing above and beyond his required duties displaying exceptional judgment and initiative. A short while later the Secretary of the Navy presented Corporal William Young with the Navy Achievement Medal for his tireless resourcefulness and inspiring dedication to duty.  As a civilian Willie channeled his resourcefulness and dedication to duty into the volunteer fire service as a fireman for West Collingswood Heights and Audubon Park Fire Departments, achieving Life Member status with the latter.  He enjoyed watching movies and the military & science channel.  Willie liked camping, hanging around a campfire, and fireworks. He loved a challenge, especially if he could figure out an inventive way to build something new out of the ordinary.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at the Audubon Park Volunteer Fire Department, 18 Road C, Audubon, NJ on January 6th at 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow.
