Thomas "Tom" Tharp

Tom passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, of Westmont, NJ.  Beloved husband of Susan A. (nee Olcott).

Loving father of Kirk Tharp (Peggy Palcko) of Blenheim, NJ, Kraig Tharp (Alexis) of S. Whitehall, PA, Kristofer Tharp of W. Collingswood Heights., NJ and Katie Schafer (Jarrod) of Westmont, NJ.  Dear brother of Ann Harshman (Jerry) of Harrisburg, PA and Robert Tharp of Tuckerton, NJ. Proud grandfather of Charlie Schafer and Layla Tharp.  Also survived by his dog Doc.

Tom was a life-long resident of Haddon Township and graduated from HT High School Class of 1966.  He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War in the Army Battery A 5 ^th Battalion, the 16 ^th Artillery and 4 ^th Infantry Division.  Tom received two Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star of Valor and the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Valor. He coached HTAA Little League in the 1980’s and in 1983 his team “David Wilson” won the Championship. Tom was also a member of E.J. Newton Memorial Chapter #14 for Disabled American Veterans and a life member of the American Legion Post 230 VFW 713, where he served as Commander.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Funeral Services will be private.
