Passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2017, of Haddon Township, NJ, age 89.
Beloved husband of 57 years to Dorothy (Nee Capobianco). Loving father of Kathy O'Malley (Brian), Karyn Seaver (Paul), Antoinette Jakeman (John Anlage), Barb Garrison (Jake), Sandra Jakeman. GrandPop of 6 & Great Grandfather of 5. He is also survived by his close cousin Joan Glisson.
Tom was born on January 25, 1928 and was raised in Philadelphia. He attended West Philadelphia HS. He went on to serve in the Marine Corp from 1946-1948 and again in the Korean War with the Army 1950-1951. Following his military service he was employed at Arco Refinery for 35 years, where he never missed a day of work. At age 30 Tom met beautiful Dorothy and they married soon after, and he lovingly adopted her four daughters. Four years later, they were blessed with another daughter Sandra. Tom loved the game of baseball and shopping at Wegmans, but most of all he loved his wife. He was a news junkie and loved a great debate with his daughters. He was a Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church where they attended for 50 years. He loved his church family, especially his "count" buddies. His intelligence was admired by all, as was his witty and sarcastic sense of humor. Tom was humble and thankful through his final days.
Close family and friends are welcome to attend his memorial service Wednesday, May 31, 2017, 10AM at First Presbyterian Chapel, 20 Kings Hwy. E., Haddonfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 370 7
