Santa Lucy Loffland

On February 17th, Santa Lucy Loffland, passed away peacefully with her son Thomas at her side, at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, at the age of 82.

Santa was born October 14, 1942 in New York City, New York to Pasquale Lazzaro and Serena Rosaria DiPetro.  At age 20 she married Thomas Stoudt and together they brought two wonderful boys into the family, Thomas Anthony, Jr. and John Paul.

Thomas, Sr. and Santa would part ways later in life but God blessed her with a new love and in 1985 she remarried to Earnest H. Loffland.  Santa and Earnie enjoyed 37 adventurous years together finally settling in Dayton Ohio. Earnie passed away in April 2022, but with a large and loving family standing by, Santa was not alone.  She made the hard decision to leave her home, friends, and family in Ohio and moved in with her niece Rosanne Rebecca in New Jersey.

Santa was a kind hearted, generous, patriotic and devout person.  She loved our National Parks, making ceramics, and a good harlequin novel.  She reminisced often at her time spent working as a nurse’s aide and was most proud of her many years working at Elder-Beerman. Santa had a unique way of looking at the world and had a strong and independent mind.  She was one of kind and she will be missed.

Survivors include her son Thomas A. Stoudt Jr. of Palmer, AK, brother Ralph M. Lazzaro of Lewis, DE, three grandchildren, Nicholas A. Stoudt of Anchorage, AK, Brandon P. Stoudt of Troy, OH, Alayna M. Stoudt of Columbus, OH, and great-grandson, Maximiliano E. Stoudt of Troy, OH.  Santa was preceded in death by her husband Earnest and son John P. Stoudt.

Interment and memorial will take place in Ohio. Details will be announced at a later date.
