Ruth O. Malloy

(neé Orr) Ruth, of Westmont, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the age of 80. Ruth was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Orr. Beloved wife of 39 years to the late John J. Malloy. Loving mother of John Malloy (Amy Jones) of Ambler, PA, Terry Malloy (Maureen) of West Chester, PA, Katie Carberry (Dean) of Powell, OH, and Ellen Kay (Stephen) of Haddon Township, NJ. Dear sister of Catherine Orr and the late William, Walter, Samuel, Robert, and John. Devoted grandmother of Dan, Jack (Sarah), Maggie, Sam, Charlie, Mia, Brianna, Mallory, and Charlotte. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was born and grew up in Philadelphia, PA, raised her family in Marlton, NJ, and later moved to Westmont, NJ with her sister, Catherine. Ruth was a very loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching her children and later on her grandchildren play sports and dance. She loved playing games, especially pinochle, and a good round of miniature golf at the Flamingo in LBI. She would draw and color for hours with her grandchildren. Ruth had a song for everything and just loved her vanilla ice cream. She was an avid reader, daily walker, and enjoyed spending time with her extended family and friends. Ruth was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed daily mass and volunteering time.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Wednesday, January 24th from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at Saint Teresa of Calcutta HOLY SAVIOUR CHURCH, 50 Emerald Ave., Westmont, NJ, where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.

Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ruth’s memory may be made to Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 809 Park Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108.
