Russell G. Kenny, Jr.

We could never have imagined life without you, we are sad you are gone, yet happy that you are free from the wheelchair and your debilitating disease.

Russell G. Kenny Jr, 73 of Mt. Laurel, Avalon, Columbus & Maple Shade, NJ went home be with his Lord on April 19, 2024 after a 45 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.  Russ was born at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital, he graduated from Lenape High School in 1968. He went on to graduate with a degree in Animal Husbandry from DelVal College in 1972. While employed as an Animal Science teacher at Northern Burlington County Regional High School he received his Masters degree in education from Rutgers University. Words cannot express how devoted he was to teaching, farming, being a 4-H leader, FFA advisor and member of the Columbus Baptist Church all while tirelessly working to raise awareness with the MS society. Russ was honored with being the 1990 MS father of the year.

Along with his many accomplishments, his proudest and most precious moments were when spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and family.

He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years Ann Crismond Kenny, his father Russell G. Kenny Sr. and his sister Joyce Kenny. He is survived by his loving mother and caregiver over the last 5 years, Jean Bennett Kenny, his brother Larry Kenny and wife Maryanne, his brothers David Kenny and wife Sheila, Steven Kenny, Tom Kenny, his children Russell G. Kenny, III & Stephanie Kenny. His 4 grandchildren Tiffany Puglia Jackson and husband Tyler, Russell G, Kenny IV, Kevin Puglia and Gabrielle Kenny Bixler and husband Caleb. His 3 great grandchildren Jamison, Julian and Jaiden Jackson. He is also survived by his life-long friend of 68 years, Bob Capricesco, his nephew and caregiver Stefan Purnell, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Visitation on Saturday, April 27th from 10:30 to 12 PM at Columbus Baptist Church, 24260 W. Main St., Columbus NJ, where his Memorial Service will be celebrated at 12 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, contribution in Russ’ memory may be made to Northern Burlington FFA, who graciously gave him his first scooter.

The family is asking all NBC, Lenape, DelVal, 4H or FFA Alumni to show your support by wearing your school/activity colors.
