Rodney passed away in his home, on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the age of 64, of Forked River, NJ, formerly of Cape May, NJ.
Loving son of Charlotte C. Bart & the late William C . Bart, Sr. Beloved father of Christina M. Platt (Mark) of Collingdale, PA and the late Maureen Bart and Rodney C. Bart, Jr. Loving brother of Dianna Bart of Cape May Court House, NJ and William C. Bart, Jr. (Maryann) of Florida. Proud grandfather of Kevin Bart, Colleen Boyles, Lucas Bart and Cormac Platt. Dear uncle of Lesley Clarke (Cody) and Anna Bart.
Rodney was a gregarious man who had an incredible knack for making friends wherever he went. He was a Sea Captain by trade, and a fisherman at heart - Rodney never left home without a fishing rod in his truck, and his fishing license pinned to his hat. Rodney was also an avid bird watcher and alongside his fishing rod, you could always find a copy of North American birds and at least one pair of binoculars. He was a diehard Eagles and Phillies fan and loved watching the games with his friends and family. Most of all though, Rodney was kind-hearted. He was the person that would help a stranger change a tire on the side of the road, or offer a sympathetic ear when you had a bad day, and he always, always had a joke at the ready. It was nearly impossible not to smile in Rodney's presence, he was loved, and will be missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Tuesday, October 17th from 10 to 11:30 AM at Jackson Funeral Home, 308 Haddon Ave., Haddon Township, NJ, where his Memorial service will begin at 11:30 AM.
Interment will be private for the family.
