Regina "Bunny" L. Meekins

Regina (nee LeMaitre) passed away peacefully, at her Collingswood home on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at the age of 76.

She was surrounded by her loving children Teresa "Tracey" Newman and Joseph Barneski, III (Rosanna). Beloved wife of the late James H. Meekins, Jr. In addition to her two children, she is survived by her sister, Joann Owens (Jesse), her grandchildren Ashley Galownia (nee Barneski) and Joseph Barneski, IV, and James’ seven children and grandchildren.

Bunny was born in Queens, NY to Joseph and Regina Lemaitre (nee Pitts), graduated from Delaware Twp. High School in 1963 and retired from her role as Data Entry Clerk at the Camden County Hall of Justice in 2011. Bunny didn’t like to make a fuss and will be remembered for her kindness and good nature, but she certainly was no pushover. She was a woman of quiet strength who met the challenges she faced throughout her life with courage and love. Bunny was a fiercely loyal friend, dedicated wife and a proud mother who always gave much more than she ever asked in return. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation, Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 from 1 to 2 PM at JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Ave., Haddon Township, NJ, where her Memorial Service will begin at 2 PM. Flowers are welcome, as are contributions to Samaritan Hospice at www.SamaritanNJ.org
