(nee Fitzpatrick) Patsy passed on December 31, 2024, at the age of 87, of Haddon Township, NJ, Daughter of the late Patrick J. Fitzpatrick & Mary E. (nee Murphy). Beloved wife of the late William M. Potter. Loving mother of Steven M. Potter.
Dear sister of the late Mary Johnson (Fitzpatrick), Margaret (Peggy) Dimpter (Fitzpatrick), Elizabeth (Mae) McCurry, (Fitzpatrick), Florence (Flossy) Diliberto (Fitzpatrick), her Mother-in-law, Dorothy Potter, Brother in laws, Burt Johnson, Nelson Dimpter, George Wetherill, Hank McCurry and George Irish. Also survived by her sister Jeanne Irish (Fitzpatrick), her brother-in-law Roy Diliberto, her nieces and nephews, Lisa (Robert), Patrick (Karen), Sonya, James, Joy, Marlena (Tom), Paul (Jenifer) Kathy (Bret), Olivia (Matt), Jayne (Bill), Amy (Michael) Sandy (Peter), Nelson (Lisa), Patty Ann (Mike), Dawn (Robbie), and many great nieces and nephews. She was born on July 1, 1937 in Camden, NJ, Pat was the daughter of Irish parents Mary Ellen & Patrick James Fitzpatrick. Pat was born fourth of six Fitzpatrick girls, Mary, Peggy, Mae, Jeannie and Flossy. They grew up in Bellmawr Park, NJ where she attended Haddon Heights High School. The Fitzpatrick household was full of love, laughter and wonderful childhood memories for her.
She married William "Billy" Potter and they were married for over 35 years.
Pat worked for Quaker City Insurance in Philadelphia and United Insurance Company of America in Chicago until the birth of her son in 1977. In the early 1980’s she and her family moved back to New Jersey to be close to family. At that time, she started her own business “Personally Yours Monogramming” with her sister Flossy, originating out of her home then opening a shop in the Echelon Mall. In 1988 with she starting working for Virtua Health Systems with the “NICU crew” in Voorhees. She worked with the crew for 32 years and formed many lifelong friendships. Pat loved spending time with family and friends. When she lived in Chicago, they would travel every Christmas back to NJ to spend time with her sisters and their families.
Pat loved to gamble and loved to win of course. Her favorite spot was the casinos in Atlantic City, she loved them all. She was an avid reader, painter, seamstress, enjoyed puzzles and crocheting. Pat loved spending time in Sea Isle City in the summers.
Pat followed politics very closely and served as a committee woman for the town of Haddonfield. She was very active in the election process and worked the polls every election. Pat loved flowers of every kind, she enjoyed gardening and helping with her son’s pepper plants. Her and her son Steven loved watching and cheering on Philadelphia Flyers. She enjoyed traveling and she especially loved her recent trip to Ireland with her nieces Marlena and Lisa and her sister Jeannie, which was a lifelong dream. Patsy loved a good party, and was always the life of any party she attended.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Wednesday, January 8th from 10 to 11 AM at JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Ave., Haddon Township, NJ, where her Memorial Service will begin at 11 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions in Patsy’s memory may be made to the AWA, 509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043.
