Obituary

Nancey Lee Earney, born February 8, 1946, from Leonla NJ, passed away on October 29, 2026, in Little River, South Carolina, at the age of 80.

Nancey was a devoted stay-at-home mom whose unwavering love and dedication shaped the lives of her family. She volunteered tirelessly for VFW Post #7288 in Calabash, North Carolina, as a cherished member of the Auxiliary. No responsibility at the Post was ever too large or too small for Nancey—her commitment to service reflected the proud legacy of her father, Frederick Hall, Sr., a WWII veteran, Purple Heart recipient, and past commander of the Calabash Post #7288.

A truly creative soul, Nancey had a remarkable talent for decorating, whether for holidays or simply freshening up the family home. Her excellent cooking brought joy to countless family gatherings, and she delighted in traveling and exploring new places. Above all, Nancey treasured time spent with her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Nancey’s kindness and generosity extended far beyond her family. An amazing friend and a beacon of warmth in her community, her home was always filled with people. She opened her heart and doors to friends and strangers alike, embodying a spirit of compassion and hospitality. There was never a bad word spoken about Nancey—she would do anything for anybody, and her creativity and gentle nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Hall, Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth Marie Hall nee Richetti; her daughter, Colette Earney; and her sister, Barbara Hertline (William). Nancey is survived by her loving husband, Alan Kirk Earney; children Lisa Burns, Daniel Mitten (Cynthia), and Kirk Earney (Jennifer); grandchildren William (Katie), Kyle, Jake, Nathan, Caitlin, and Aidan; great-grandchildren Dylan, Mackenzi, and Brooke; sister Kathleen (Nick) Mastrosante; and brother, Frederick Hall, Jr. (Cheryl)

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026 from 11 am - 1 pm at the VFW Post #7288 in Calabash, North Carolina, a second gathering will be held on November 21, 2026 at Jackson Funeral Home 308 Haddon Ave, Haddon Township, NJ.
