Michael went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2024, at the age of 77, formerly of Collingswood NJ. For the past 8 years he was a resident of the Coles Landing Community in Haddon Township, NJ.
Son of the late Kathleen M. Potts (nee’ O’Neill) & Howard Delacy McDonald. Beloved brother of Denise A. Havlick-Regan of Denver, CO, Debbie McDonald of Snohomish, WA, and the late R.P. Mark McDonald. Dear uncle to Selah Henry, Jared Dunne, Erin Roberson, Richard Regan, Jr., Casey McDonald, Markie McDonald. Godfather to his nephew Joseph McDonald and great uncle to Amélie and Noah Davenport, also survived by his many cousins in the O’Neill clan and extended friends and family who will miss him immensely.
Michael enjoyed the outdoors, having been a carpenter in Washington State and a member of the Northwest Carpenter’s Union. Michael also loved the mountains and lived in West Chicago Creek and Georgetown, CO while working in the Climax Molybdenum Mine in Lake County, CO beside Fremont Pass. In most recent years Michael served as the unofficial host for all activities at his Senior Living apartments, calling Bingo and instituting the “snack program” in the recreation room. Beyond playing chess and cards with his fellow residents. Michael was a huge sports aficionado, and most often could be seen wearing his Eagles jacket or Phillies baseball cap (or both!) when making his rounds.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation, Friday, April 5th, from 10 to 11 AM at JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Avenue, Haddon Township, NJ, where his memorial service will begin at 11 AM, followed by his graveside interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bellmawr, NJ.
