Michael Anthony DiMeglio
July 15, 1947-March 20, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that I, together with our families, announce the passing of our beloved Michael on March 20, 2022 after a brief illness.
Michael was selfless and kind to everyone. He was humble and never expected anything in return. His mission was to “pay forward,” and make someone’s day a little brighter. He touched so many lives.
Michael found much joy in his family and friends. He loved cooking, traveling and music. He had a “tune” for everything. He was witty and put a smile on many faces. Michael was creative and talented. He was a genius at remodeling and fixing things. He was an author and an entrepreneur. He was a perfectionist and worked hard. He always had some project or another, but would drop it on a dime if someone called and needed him.
His expertise with careers at IBM as a Human Resource Director, and later with Ricoh as a Senior Manager of Communication Development, helped us to use the right words to express ourselves with clarity and respect, even in the most challenging situations.
Michael loved sports on all levels, and spent many days watching his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews at play. He cheered and coached them, whether near or afar, with much enthusiasm and passion.
Michael was strong and courageous, both physically and emotionally. He suffered the loss of his parents, Pasquale and Josephine by the age of 12, and his sister Marie in her early years. He and his sisters were raised and loved by their cherished “Nonni” (Lucia DiMeglio). Michael won a long battle with cancer. He died a short time after a cardiac event without more suffering or pain.
Although my marriage to Michael was too brief, we experienced a lifetime; “dreaming, doing something, doing nothing and riding into the sunset together.” He was my hero, my soulmate, and my friend. I will forever cherish him in my heart, and be grateful for his love, for embracing my family, and for making me a part of his family and friend’s lives.
Michael will be sadly missed by many. He is survived by his beloved Wife Anna. Children: Holly (Paul) Ursetta, Jay (Stacey) DiMeglio. Jim (Julie) Barrett and Jennifer (Pam) Thomson. Grandchildren: Michael and Julia. Megan, Logan, Erin, Nicholas and Grayson. Kayleigh and Tristan. Sister: Carmella Setti. Nephews and Nieces: Rich (Lisa) Setti, Chris (Tammy) Setti, Patricia (Chris) Roos, Rebecca and Henry Roos, Michael and Kathryn Campbell.
Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Michael DiMeglio to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
