Obituary

Michael DiGiacomo, of Haddonfield, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 59.

Faithful husband of Tanya DiGiacomo (nee Echevarria) Loving father to son James Cole DiGiacomo and stepdaughter Megan Soto (Echevarria). Beloved brother of David and John DiGiacomo. He is also survived by Uncle Dominic Michini, Aunt Irene Lombardo, honorary aunt & uncle Carol & Jack Shanfelter, seven wonderful nieces and nephews, many cousins, and three step-grandchildren Summer, Lena & Cannon.

Mike enjoyed a happy, memorable childhood in Haddonfield, NJ, and spent 11 years in Florida before returning to his roots in our beloved South Jersey in 2018.

Mike was a born engineer who obtained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Drexel University. He worked proudly in his field for more than 25 years, with the last 11 spent with HDR, Inc in his role as Sr. Bridge Designer. Outside of work, he was always working on a home project. As recently as 2025, he remodeled his own bathroom, and before that he transformed attic space into livable bedrooms, and installed new gas heat. He could figure out how to fix anything.

A loving family man to his core, he was known for his strong work ethic, and his kind, gentle, patient nature. He was a true advocate for fairness and equality. He was a wonderful son to his departed parents, and an amazing friend and brother with whom you could share anything, talk through complicated life challenges, and theorize about the history of mankind and origins of the universe. Sometimes – all in one conversation. He enjoyed the simple things in life, like Wawa hazelnut coffee, Philly sports, and spending time with his family. He will be missed by many. Thanks, Mike, for all the love and support you provided us throughout your lifetime, you will be missed daily.
