Lois Claire Donaway (née Noll), 85, of Haddon Township, NJ, formerly of Camden, NJ, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 27, 2026. Born February 10, 1941, Lois was a woman of deep faith, boundless creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Clara Noll (née Duchneskie), and her son, Scott J. Fuhs.
Lois was the beloved wife of Clayton E. “Ned” Donaway III; loving mother of Brent J. Donaway; devoted mother-in-law to Renee Donaway (née Grasso); cherished sister of Barbara (née Noll) Cunane (Frank); and proud grandmother of Connor and Mackenzie Donaway. She was also a dedicated aunt to Kevin (Stephanie), Kristi (Dean), and Kurt (Melissa) Cunane, as well as to her great-nieces and great-nephews.
Lois’s lifelong journey of faith and service began in her youth as a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, a Masonic-affiliated organization for young women.
A devoted member of Haddonfield United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, Lois served in countless roles throughout the church's history. She sang in the Chancel Choir, later serving as chairperson of its music committee, and was also a member of The Oratorio Choir (now the New Jersey Master Chorale) and the longtime quartet “Kindred Joy.” She was a beloved “choir mom” to the nationally touring New Sound Choir and served as a chaperone and mentor on mission trips. In 1999, she founded “Operation Bear Hug,” a Christmas Eve ministry delivering teddy bears to patients in local hospitals.
Beyond the church, Lois shared her love of music and performance through community theater productions, including Little Miss Sunshine, H.M.S. Pinafore, and Fiddler on the Roof. She also entertained audiences as “Sunshine the Clown” and through her comedic character, “Mrs. Bufforington.”
Lois also co-founded a local chapter of the Red Hat Society, an international organization celebrating friendship, fun, and fulfillment among women.
In addition to her many community contributions, Lois built a 40-year career as a radiologic technologist in hospital and orthopedic private practice settings. Above all else, she found her greatest joy in being “Mom” and “G-Mom.”
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Road, Haddonfield, NJ, where her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be private.
