Judith A. Smith "Jude"

JUDITH ANN (BOYCE) SMITH, 68 of Somerdale NJ.

Affectionately known to everyone as Jude, she was the daughter of Francis Boyce and Julia (Collins) Boyce, both deceased.  She was preceded in death by brothers Francis (Frank) Boyce, Dennis Boyce and Kevin Boyce and sister Donna Boyce.

A native Philadelphian, Jude was a graduate of St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls and Rutgers University-Camden where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.

Jude held a variety of positions during a long career in government service with the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of Labor and the Social Security Administration, retiring in 2014.

Among her personal interests, Jude pursued a life-long love of cooking and travel. She combined her gregarious nature, never having met a stranger, with her cooking skills, providing gifts from her kitchen to family, friends, coworkers and neighbors alike.  Her love of travel took her to Ireland, the Caribbean, Italy, the Maritime Provinces of Canada and several wine tour group bus trips.

She is survived by her devoted son Kristian French and his beloved partner Joanne Dahms of Philadelphia as well as her dear friend and former spouse, Donald Smith of Westmont, NJ.  Additional surviving family are nephews Bryan Boyce of Annandale, NJ, Sean Boyce (Christine) of Hamilton Square, NJ and Jackie Mason of Collingswood, NJ and nieces Tracy Boyce of Philadelphia and Deanna Boyce of Willow Grove, PA.  Jude is also survived by a large extended family, including the former spouses and partners of her siblings: Maureen Boyce (Francis) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; Jim Kelly (Donna) of Philadelphia; Lizz Boyce (Dennis) of Philadelphia and Margaret Boyce (Kevin) of Willow Grove, PA, as well as many wonderful friends, former coworkers and neighbors.
