(nee Hoban) Joan passed away, on March 26, 2020, at the age of 64, of Marlton, NJ.
Loving mother of Gena Hoban of Collingswood, NJ. Dear sister of Irene Baker (nee Hoban), Mary Hoban, and Anne Hoban. Also survived by her niece Mary Petriccione (John) and her nephews Thomas Baker (Christina) and David Drescher (Christen) and her great nephews and nieces Jake Baker, Jonathan Petriccione, Kali Baker, Cole Baker, Jack Drescher, Brit Baker and Miranda Drescher.
Joan enjoyed the simple things in life… a sunny day on the beach, by the pool or any body of water. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also had a huge love for animals, dogs mostly, but any animal would catch her eye. She was an avid sports fan, all Philadelphia teams of course, with basketball being her first love and Villanova being her favorite team. She loved all sports documentaries. Another love was comedy, especially stand-up comedy. Joan had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. She was a kind and caring soul who would help anyone in the world even when she didn’t have anything. She always fought for the underdog and did her best to be a good person every single day of her life.
A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 1528 Walnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19102 or Lilo’s Promise Animal Rescue, 23 Chippenham Dr., Voorhees, NJ 08043.
