(nee Ortiz) Iris passed peacefully, with her family by her side, on October 23, 2025, of the Camden County Area, at the age of 74. Beloved wife of the late Daniel Vargas. Loving and proud mother of Madeline Loper (Michael) and Erica Moreno-Davis (Anthony Davis). Dear sister of Fernando Ortiz, Sr. and Efigenia Ortiz. Proud and adoring grandmother of Mariah Loper, Michael Loper, III, Chaz Davis and Miles Davis. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Iris was a very loving and compassionate woman. She adored her family, loved cooking for them and hosted many special holidays. Nothing brought her more pride and happiness than the time she spent caring for her cherished grandchildren. She had a deep love for music and dance and found pure joy on the dance floor—especially when dancing salsa. To be around her was to feel her love, her warmth, and her infectious zest for life.
