Irini M. Glinos

Irini passed away on April 1, 2025, of Haddon Township, NJ, at the age of 80.  Beloved wife of Michael Glinos. Devoted mother of Nickolaos Glinos (Donna), Efrosini Glinos Coyle and Irene Tutkun (Sadi). Loving grandmother of Christina & Michael Glinos, Zachary Coyle, Michael & Sema Tutkun.  Also survived by her sister Marika Psarou and many nieces and nephews.

Irini was born in Andros, Greece, where she learned the value of hard work as a housekeeper and later as a talented seamstress. In 1974, she courageously moved to America with her two young children to reunite with her husband and start a new chapter. She embraced her new home with pride, always expressing her love for America.

A devoted member of St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, Irini found joy in her faith, friendships, and volunteer work. She continued working as a seamstress, creating beautiful dresses and lending her skills to anyone in need. Later, she welcomed her third child and worked at the Hyatt in Cherry Hill before retiring.

Irini’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her love into every meal she made, bringing everyone together around her table. Her pastitsio, avgolemono, and parayemisi became legendary, but more than the food, it was the warmth and love she shared that made every gathering special. To her children and grandchildren, Yiayia’s cooking—and her endless love—was simply the best.

Family & friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday, April 7th from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at St. THOMAS GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 615 Mercer St., Cherry Hill, NJ, funeral services will follow at 11 AM.

Interment Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
