Helen Underseth Carstensen

Helen passed away, on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at the age of 97.

She was born in Helena, Montana and was married to Peter Henry Carstensen for 55 years.  She outlived both younger sisters Dorothy Cramer and Mary Ann Koski.  She enjoyed residences in Naples, FL and in New Jersey in Avalon and HaddonTownship.  She had three children Jane Carstensen (Jerry Koble) of Haddon Township, Eric Carstensen (Benbury) of Barrington, IL and Chris Carstensen (Susan Fisher) of St. Louis, MO. She is the proud grandmother of Karl (Laura), Kara, Alex (Joanne), Ted (Shahira) & Lars (Christine).  She is the fond great-grandmother of Daphne, Theo, Wyatt, Avery and Eugene.

Helen enjoyed playing Bridge, Chicken Leg Dominos, doing crossword puzzles, reading & learning.  Helen later returned to college and graduated from Glassboro State College in 1978 with a BA in English Literature.  She was active in the community with the PTA, Haddon Fortnightly, AAUW, Scouting, Stone Harbor Yacht Club, Commodore Club Association, Tavistock Hills Swim Club & St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

A memorial gathering will be celebrated privately.
