Giovanna "Gianna" Monaco

(nee Guerriero)

Gianna passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at the age of 86, of Haddon Township, NJ, formerly of South Philadelphia. 

Loving daughter of the late Carmine Guerriero and Agatha Caso of Avellino, Italy. Wife of the late Eugenio Monaco. Beloved mother of Anna J. Monaco-Lear (Chris) of Barto, PA and Carmine Monaco (Doreen) of Cherry Hill, NJ. Dear sister of Elvira Albertini (the late Mario), Anna Mazzone (the late Raffaele) and the late Constantina Guerriero. Proud grandmother of Christopher, Dylan, Jocelyn, Sofia and Emiliano. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. 

Gianna was a homemaker and enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles and watching her Italian soap operas. She was a faithful Catholic praying her Rosary many times a day and was a longtime parishioner of Holy Saviour Church and St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church in Philadelphia. She loved spending time with her family. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday, January 7th from 9:30 – 10:45 AM at the Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Holy Saviour Church, 50 Emerald Ave., Westmont, NJ. 

Eulogy will begin at 10:45 AM and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Gianna’s memory be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation and The American Cancer Society.
