Ersula Ruth Aha

of Gallagher Township, PA, formerly of Collingswood, NJ, passed onto her heavenly home on August 17, 2023. She passed peacefully surrounded by her children.

Daughter of William & Mae Ruch, Ersula was born on October 8, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Billy and Jay Ruch as well as her devoted husband of 58 years, Joseph J. Aha, III in 2018. Ersula is survived by her grateful children, Dawn Brejcha (Bill) of Glassboro, Ersula Beavan (Will) of Pine Hill, Christian Aha (Maureen) of Haddon Twp, Cindra Bean (Otto) of Daggett, PA and her six grandchildren, Ben, Jeff and Aidan Aha, Elizabeth and Buddy Bean and Kelly Beavan.

After raising her children Ersula went to work for the Borough of Collingswood. She retired after 21 years of service in the Water-Sewer and Tax Collection Departments as well as her duties as Registrar of Vital Statistics. Joe and Ersula lived out their retirement years living at their “mountain paradise” in Gallagher Twp, PA. Ersula enjoyed many activities including holding positions within the PTA, sitting on the board of the church’s she attended, singing in the church Choir, United Methodist Women, her bowling league, volunteering for the Neighborhood Center as well as making hoagies with her friends to benefit the Haneyville Fire Department. Ersula was true to her faith, singing praise with her last breaths.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Friday, August 25th from 10 to 11 AM at JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Ave., Haddon Township, NJ where her funeral service will be held at 11 AM with Pastor Kurt Kinney of Bethel Church, Blackwood, NJ officiating. Interment will take place at the Westminster Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, PA where Ersula and her husband, Joe, will be laid to rest. “It is well with my soul.”

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the church Ersula faithfully attended, Caldwell Church, 1080 Park Ave., Woolrich, PA 17745.
