Eileen G. Carmody

Eileen passed away on July 28, 2021, at the age of 49, of Haddon Twp., NJ, formerly of Annapolis, MD. Beloved daughter of Mary Carmody (nee Lewis) & the late James Carmody. Wife of Matthew Sciullo of Haddon Twp.  Loving mother of Grace Sciullo of Haddon Twp., NJ. Dear sister of Laura Schillo (John) of Tampa, FL, Patrick Carmody (Barbara) of Westminster, MD and the late Cathy Carmody.

Eileen was born in Annapolis and from a young age was an avid fan of dance and theatre.  She appeared in many children's theater performances and eventually attended the Baltimore school for the performing Arts to dance ballet.  Eileen graduated Annapolis High School and went on to attend Randolph Macon University and eventually earn her Master's Degree in Social work from UMBC.  Eileen spent her early years working with at risk populations in Baltimore and moved on to run several outpatient mental health programs in NJ and PA eventually running one of the suicide prevention programs at the Veterans Administration for which she received a national award.

Eileen was always quick to make friends and start a conversation with a stranger.  She saw the good in everyone and was always described by colleagues as compassionate and willing to help anyone.  Her family and friends knew her as a good listener and someone that was kind and loyal.  She was a wonderful mother to her daughter who was the light of her life.  She will be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Wednesday, August 11 ^th from 6 to 8 PM at Jackson Funeral Home, 308 Haddon Avenue, Haddon Township, NJ, family will share memories at 8 PM. Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Eileen’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
