Edward R. Mitchell, Jr.

Ed passed peacefully on April 28, 2022, at the age of 87, of Westmont, NJ, formerly of Camden, NJ.  Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Adeline E. “Adele”. Loving father of Cynthia Procacci (Joseph) formally of Westmont, NJ, and Edward D. Mitchell (Marysharon) of Washington Twp., NJ.  Proud grandfather of Joseph Procacci, Jr. (Amanda), Michele Procacci (John DiCicco), Rosa Byars (Matthew), Nicholas Procacci (Melissa) and Edward J. Mitchell (Meredith O’Neill).  Adoring great grandfather of Damien, Gabriella, Dominic, Brandon, Giovanni, Carmella, Alexandria, Elena and Anastasia.

Ed was a US Navy Veteran proudly serving in the Korean War on the USS Roanoke CL 145 Cruiser. He was a Pipefitter at L.H. Shingle Co. in Camden and later owner of A.W. Thrift in Camden on Broadway. He then retired and worked as a Livery Driver and Funeral Assistant for many funeral homes. Ed was a member of the Westmont Lions Club for many years, serving as past Deputy District Governor. He enjoyed people, always had a story that would make you laugh. His pride and joy were his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday, May 2 ^nd from 6-8 PM at Jackson Funeral Home, 308 Haddon Ave., Haddon Township, NJ.  All are invited to gather 10:30 AM Tuesday morning at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish HOLY SAVIOUR CHURCH, 50 Emerald Ave., Westmont, NJ, for his Funeral Mass at 11 AM.

Entombment will be private.
