(Nee Colella) Passed peacefully during the morning of December 9th, 2017, age 94, of Greentree/Marlton.
She was born on December 20
th
, 1922 to Lorenzo Colella and Mariangela Clemente of Avellino, Italy. Edith was the sister of Evelyn Sabatucci, Lena Valentine, Virginia Pearson and Larry Colella. She married Harry F. Elwell of Philadelphia, who was a veteran of WWII serving with the United States Army. She was also predeceased by her sons Harry E. Elwell and Thomas F. Elwell.
Edith is remembered running her business, the Turnpike Restaurant, in Maple Shade, hosting at the Greenbrier Restaurant and dressing brides at the Bridal Suite until she retired at the age of 85. Edith loved word search puzzles, shopping, the Philadelphia Phillies, feeding the family dog Coco "human" food when no one was looking and making everyone laugh with her frankly blunt opinions. Edie had a sharp sense of style and took pride in making sure her hair was perfect. Edie will be missed by her children Gary Elwell (Betty) and Karen Elwell Baldino. "Nan" is remembered by her grandchildren; Thomas F. Elwell Jr. (Darlene), Deborah Elwell, Erika Baldino, David Baldino II, Victoria Baldino and numerous nieces and nephews.
