Dorothy M. Blob, aged 91, passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2024.
She was born on April 24, 1933, in Philadelphia, where she lived and worked until she moved to Haddon Township, NJ in 2008.
Dot’s working life was in the healthcare field. She held various positions at St. Luke’s Hospital, Temple University Hospital and Metropolitan Hospital. For many years she held a second job as a bartender.
Dot was outgoing and loved to laugh and spend time with and take bus trips with her friends at Rohrer Towers II. Some of her favorite things in life were singing in the choir at Oxford Circle Baptist Church; volunteering in the oncology department at Frankford Hospital Torresdale; swimming at Fischer’s Pool when her children were young and later, as a senior citizen, spending summer days in the sun at Crystal Lake Pool; decorating her home for Christmas and shopping for gifts for her children that were forever signed ‘Love from Santa’; polishing her long nails; wearing lipstick because it brightens your face; receiving flowers from Rosie’s garden; looking at and listening to trees blowing in the wind; gazing at fluffy clouds floating across a blue or gray sky; watching planes come and go along the flight path to PHL; receiving birthday greetings from Presidents Obama and Biden; and last but not least, voting for Kamala Harris.
Dot is survived by her children Maxine, Max, Eddie (Cathy), and Richard, twin grandsons Eddie (Amanda) and Andy (Candace), and great grand-puppies Casey and Corey. She was predeceased by her grand-dogs, Teddy and Whinger.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Elise and Princess for the kindness, support, and care they have provided.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation, Wednesday, October 30th from 10:30 – 11 AM at Jackson Funeral Home, 308 Haddon Avenue, Haddon Township, NJ, where her Memorial Service will begin at 11 AM.
