Dolores Rea Aspell-Leeds

Dolores passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, of Somerdale, NJ, formerly of Haddonfield, NJ, at the age of 88.  Beloved wife of the late Frank T. Aspell, Jr. and former wife of the late Vernon L. Leeds, Sr.  Loving mother of Vernon L. Leeds, Jr. (Donna Leeds) and the late Leland H. Leeds.  Dear sister of the late George Beckers.  Proud grandmother to Vernon L. Leeds, III, Brandon Leeds, Danielle Mills (Dillon), and Nicole Barkoff (Brendan). Great-grandmother of Lucas Mills. Dear sister-in-law of Robert Leeds (Dottie). Also survived by a nephew, many nieces, her dear care giver Patience Asiedu and Josie her beloved poodle and companion.

Dolores was born in Philadelphia and was a graduate of Mastbaum High School Class of 1953. She moved to Laurel Springs in 1959 to start a family.  Dolores was a member of the Laurel Springs Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary from 1965 – 1980 also served as an EMT from 1972 – 1989. She was a manager of the Lighthouse of Stratford and Sales Manager of Jo Skymer Lighting in Pennsauken. Dolores’s passion was designing and selling lighting packages for residential and commercial customers. She was an active member of Haddonfield United Methodist Church where she was a part of the Floral Arts Guild. Dolores loved working in the floral arts group creating floral arrangements and designs. She was known for her favorite food, fresh Jersey Tomatoes and cherished Friday night family dinners at her house.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing, Tuesday, Jan. 30th from 6 to 8 PM and Wednesday morning Jan. 31st from 9:30 to 10 AM at JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Ave., Haddon Twp., NJ, where her Funeral Service will begin at 10 AM.  Interment, Sunset Memorial Park, Huntingdon Valley, PA.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dolores’ memory may be made to Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Road, Haddonfield, NJ 08033 or Laurel Springs Fire Department, 723 W. Atlantic Ave., Laurel Springs, NJ 08021.
