Blasco’s Education and Work Career

Blasco started working full time for Radio Condenser just two days after his return home from WWII.  Eight months’ later he enrolled at a local junior college and completed his bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Temple University.  He was hired by RCA in their financial management department and later earned a master’s degree in business administration from Drexel University.  Blasco retired in 1988 at the end of his 33-year career with RCA.

Blasco and Angelina

As the story goes, Angelina (an immigrant from Italy) first saw a picture of Blasco during a visit at his parents’ Collingswood, NJ home while he was serving in the military. When Angelina looked at Blasco in the picture, she turned to Blasco’s mother and said, “I am going to marry your son”; and, following an appropriate courtship with full parental consent, Blasco and Angelina were married on June 11, 1950.

Since then, their love for each other has strengthened each day through life’s many trials and tribulations.  They have raised four children – guiding / advising us through life and they have grown together as one, in their friendship and genuine caring for one another during their marriage of 69 years.

We know their time together will continue beyond this life.

Reflections on Blasco from his Children

By example, he taught us that hard work, perseverance and self-discipline are all essential elements in achieving our goals and living independently; not to be afraid to take on new things and to face head-on the many challenges in life – even when we fail the first time.

He taught us that love of family was the most important thing of all – to love, respect and support one another no matter what.  We will always remember his genuine love of country and dedication to family and his example has helped each of us to become a better person.

Our lives have been blessed to have had him as our Father.
