Andrea L. Monahan

Andrea Leigh Monahan (nee Bennett), Age 71, of Haddon Twp., NJ, passed at home peacefully to a higher being on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Beloved wife for 34 years to Patrick Monahan. Survived by her brother Michael Bennett and spouse Laurie of Atlanta GA and nephews Michael, Jason and niece Jacquelyn, & great nephews James, Hunter and soon to arrive Roman. Beloved daughter of the late James Campbell and Mary Elizabeth (Mimi) Bennett.

She graduated in 1972 from Haddon Township High School, where she was captain of the sports cheerleading squad, she was affectionately known as “Boomer”.   In her professional career she worked as a medical secretary in cardiology at several area hospitals. She retired as administrative assistant from a local prestigious cardiologist office.  Andrea had a passionate love for animals. For a time, she owned a grooming and home care pet business. Andrea & her husband were volunteers for the Seeing Eye for 10 years as a “puppy raiser”.  She loved to nurture, and prepared many puppies as future guide dogs for the blind. Andrea loved doing this, knowing the ultimate goal was to help someone’s quality of life. Throughout her life, Andrea was known for her kindness, sense of humor, and generosity to others.

A celebration of life will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seeing Eye, 1 Seeing Eye Way, Morristown, NJ 07960 or Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center 125 County Rd, Blackwood NJ 08012.
