Charles "Charlie" Ott

On November 9, 2006 of Westmont, NJ, Charles peacefully passed into the arms of God while in the company of his family. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Ott (Nee Watson). An ever adventurous father, Charles is survived by his daughters Carol Ann Fabiano and her husband Louis, Debra Lynn Bello and her husband Pasquale, and his sons Charles Jr., David and his wife Cheryl, and Matthew and his wife Rebecca. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and one great grand child, all of whom enjoyed and cherished his idiosyncratic ways. Born on Sept. 8, 1921 to Frank and Florence (Nee Schloar) Ott, Charles grew up in Collingswood, attending Collingswood H.S. before enlisting in the Coast Guard in 1942. After an honorable discharge, “Charlie” worked for New Jersey Bell Telephone for 40 years before retiring in 1986. As a member of Ashland Evangelical Church, he moved through life graciously. His life joys included: golf, playing the harmonica, wood working, canoeing, painting and vacationing with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Ave., Westmont, NJ with funeral services to follow at 11AM. Interment, Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Charlie’s memory be made to the Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Ave., Phila., PA 19111.
