"Ralph M. Angelotti helped to save Gregory T. Hoffman from drowning, Westmont, New Jersey, July 17, 1994.  Gregory 7, was struggling to stay
afloat in Crystal Lake after the car in which he had been a passenger entered the lake.  Runoff from a torrential rain during the preceding hours had flooded the stream-fed lake, causing a strong current.  Angelotti, 61, retired business owner, had just arrived at the lake when he saw a man wading in the flood water in a rescue attempt.  Angelotti then saw Gregory bobbing in the water farther out; he immediately removed his shoes, dove into the lake, and swam to Gregory.  He grasped Gregory, who had just submerged, then swam against the current back toward the bank. The other man extended a branch to Angelotti and pulled him and Gregory in.  Gregory was hospitalized overnight for treatment.  Angelotti was winded, but he recovered."
