George F. Wells

Peacefully on December 17, 2016, age 88, longtime resident of the Olney section of Philadelphia, PA.

Beloved husband of 64 years to Lorraine (Nee Bach).  Loving father of Susan Norton (Michael) and John “Jack” Wells (Joanne).  Dear brother of Jocelyn Smith.  Devoted grandfather of Ryan, Joseph, Gregory, Lindsay Cushman (Andrew) and Taryn.  Great grandfather of Avrie and Macey.

Mr. Wells served in the US Navy from 1945-1947 and also served as a Merchant Marine.  He worked for 30 years for United Engineers before retiring in 1990.  Mr. Wells was active in the Golden Gems Senior Citizens Club serving as President for 10 years.  He was an active member of the Lutheran Church throughout his life.  A talented painter, he studied at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, often giving paintings as gifts for special occasions.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial service Thursday, Dec. 22, 12 Noon at the LUTHERAN CHURCH OF OUR SAVIOR, 204 Wayne Ave., Haddonfield, NJ 08033.

Interment will be private.
