Dorothy R. Shaner

(Nee Reinecker) On November 8, 2016, Age 98 of Audubon Park, NJ, formerly of Merchantville, NJ and Gettysburg, PA.

Beloved wife of the late Russell J. Shaner. Loving mother of Carolyn Moses of Audubon Park, NJ, and step-daughters Jean Brannon of Audubon, NJ and Shirley Dellacquilia of Marlton, NJ. Adoring grandmother of Michele Doran (George) of Haddon Heights, NJ, many step-grandchildren and the late Mike Moses. Great grandmother of Chandler, Carson & Olivia, many step-great grandchildren and one step great great grandson. Dear sister of Janet Mansberger (Robert) of East Berlin, PA, Patricia Sandoe (Cecil) of Gettysburg, PA and the late Claire, George, Walter & Lee Reinecker, Pauline Howell, and Jean Rudisill . Also survived by many loving nieces & nephews.

During World War II she worked in a defense plant from 1941-1945. Dorothy was a long standing member of Merchantville Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she served on the Board of Trustees and taught Sunday school, when the church closed Dorothy became a member of Calvary Baptist Church in W. Collingswood Hts, NJ. She worked as a waitress for over 40 years and was involved in private care giving. Dorothy’s favorite scripture verses were Matthew 6:33, “ But seek you first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” and Rom 2:11, “ For there is no respect of persons with God.”

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Viewing Monday evening 6 – 7:30 PM at the JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Ave, Haddon Twp., NJ, followed by her funeral service at 7:30 PM.

Interment Tuesday morning, 11 AM at Center View Cemetery, Biglerville, PA.
