Fannie "Fay" Sikes

(Nee Bruedley) On August 26, 2016, age 92, of Columbia, SC, formerly of Haddonfield, NJ.

Beloved wife of over 50 years to the late Lee Sikes. Loving mother of Carolee Brandt (the late Carlton) and Kenneth Sikes (Maureen). Dear sister of Fern Rathbone and the late Walter Bruedley, Jr. Sister-in-law of Betty Guinan, Maggie Shoaf, Helen Sikes and Greta Sikes. Grandmother of Matthew Sikes, William Sikes-Barford, Jennifer Brandt-Gilbert (Nicholas), and the late Michael C. Brandt (surviving Katherine). Great grandmother of Noah Brandt, Thomas Brandt-Gilbert, and Shakonnah Brandt-Gilbert. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Fay was born in Philadelphia, PA, she grew up in Somerdale, NJ and Westmont, NJ and graduated from Collingswood High School. During WWII, she worked in a defense plant in New Jersey, while awaiting the return from the war of her great love, Barney Lee Sikes of Cobbtown, GA. Fay was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Haddonfield and the VFW post of Westmont, where she was known by all as an incredible baker and shared her muffins, cakes, and spectacular cheesecakes.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation Tuesday, from 7-9 PM at the JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Avenue, Haddon Township, NJ, and again on Wednesday from 10-11 AM, followed by her funeral service at 11 AM.

Interment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ.
