On June 6, 2009, Age 72, of Mystic Island, NJ, formerly of Westmont, NJ. Beloved husband of Barbara A. Timson. Dear Father of Jeffery S. Slimm (Patricia) of Blue Anchor, NJ, Debra A. Henry (Michael) of Blue Anchor, NJ, and Donna L. Ali (Ken) of Williamstown, NJ. Dear Step-Father of Paul Timson of Galloway, NJ, Meg Timson of Brigantine, NJ, and Erin K. Thomas of Shamong, NJ. Brother of Marge Bean of Bellmawr, NJ, Mary Ellen Ensign of Magnolia, NJ, Edward Slimm (Laurie) of McCormick, SC, and the late H. James Slimm. Brother in law of Marlene B. Slimm and the late Otto H. Bean, III. Grandfather of Scott, Ryan, Brooke, Stacey, Jackie, Andrea, Jennifer, Danyele, Eddie, Ben & Wyatt. Great Grandfather of Owen, Austin & Madison Jane. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. John was born in Camden and grew up in Westmont. He worked for the Courier Post for several years and was later employed by the A C Press until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and was an active member with the Mays Landing Rotary. After retirement he worked at Bel Haven Paddle Sports. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday morning from 10:30 AM to 12 PM at the JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Ave., Westmont, NJ. Funeral Services 12 Noon at the funeral home. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions in John’s memory may be made to Sunshine Foundation, 1041 Mill Creek Dr., Feasterville, PA 19053.
