On April 3, 2009, Age 81, of Westmont, NJ. Beloved husband of Ruth V. Hoover (Nee Spitler). Loving father of William R. Hoover (Suzanne) of Haddon Twp., NJ, Mark E. Hoover of Westmont, NJ and Scott D. Hoover of Cherry Hill, NJ. Dear Grandfather of Nicole, Jan, Michael, William and Ronald. Great-grandfather of Logan S. Hoover. Dear Brother of Janice Knodel of Collingswood, NJ and the late Ronald C. Hoover. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Bill graduated from Collingswood High School Class of 1944. He was a US Navy Veteran and served on the USS Macon. He was a machinist at the Phila. Navy Yard, Owner/Operator of the Westmont News Agency and later Hoover Printing. He was a founding member and coach of Westmont Midget Football, coach of the Westmont Lions Little League Team and a member of the Collingswood Lions Club. He also served as the Director of the Miss Camden County Beauty Pageant for many years. Bill was very proud of 2 of his projects. He designed and printed the first Camden County Town street map and the Friendly John booklet that was used during the 1976 Bicentennial celebration in Philadelphia. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:00AM at the JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Ave., Westmont, NJ. Funeral Services 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ. In lieu of flowers contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 150 9th Ave., Runnemede, NJ 08078.
