Thomas W. "Tommy" Deritis

July 4, 1969 — August 11, 2015

On August 11, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at the age of 46.

Beloved husband of Melissa “Missy” (Schukay). Proud and loving father of Thomas and Hailey DeRitis and his pal “Frankie”. Survived by his mother Hester DeRitis (Marchetti), his in laws Mary Lou and Robert Schukay; loving brothers Charles (Mary), Guy (Sara) and his loving sisters, Dianna (Brad) Geist, Tina (Jon) Shelly and Helen (Joe) Wall, Chris Schukay (Toni) and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; Deanna, Joe, Eric, Stephanie, Chris, Sam, Jennifer, Zachary, Alex, Nick, Cassie, Hannah, Jonny, Katie, Erin, Kaycee and Alan, and a host of cherished childhood friends. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Gaetano DeRitis and his grandparents Carlo and Rosa DeRitis and Helen and Joe Marchetti.

Born on July 4th, 1969, he will always be known as our firecracker. Tommy was a talented craftsman and former hockey player who lived for his Philadelphia sports teams, especially his beloved Philadelphia Flyers. He was also known for making the best Stromboli in the East, and enjoyed playing the drums.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Visitation Sunday from 10 – 1 PM, followed by his Memorial service at 1 PM at the Jackson Funeral Home, 308 Haddon Ave., Haddon Township, NJ 08108

Interment will be private.

Our family would like to thank the beautiful angels of Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice, especially his nurse Bernie, Chaplain Marie and Sue and kindly request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Tom’s memory to Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton NJ, 08053.
