On May 26, 2015, age 92 of Barrington, NJ.

Beloved husband of Agnes M. Chapman. Loving father of Roland M. Chapman of Barrington, Thomas L. Chapman (Julie) of Georgia, Helen V. Pindziak (Charles) of Florida and Patrick J. Chapman (Joan) of Sewell. Dear brother of Graham Chapman of Texas and the late Atherton Chapman. Adoring Grandfather of Jonathan Chapman (Alexandria), Lacey Chapman, Michael Chapman, Lauren Chapman, Thomas Chapman (Ashley), Ross Chapman, Brian Chapman, Shawn Chapman (Bittina) and Charlie Pindziak. Great grandfather of Kallen Chapman and Titus Chapman.

Roland served his country in World War II as a Marine fighter pilot receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After the war he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Lehigh University. His business career was in the insurance industry working primarily as an underwriter for Employers Insurance of Wausau. The motto he lived by was, "To thine own self be true". Along with his passion for aviation, Roland enjoyed reading, especially nonfiction, and was known for his gardening skills. But his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially Agnes, his wife of 65 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 9 AM at ST. ROSE OF LIMA CHURCH, 300 Kings Hwy., Haddon Heights, NJ 08035.

Interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Blackwood NJ.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a contribution in Roland’s name be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 370 7th Ave., New York, NY 10001.
