Albert passed away peacefully on August 19, 2014, in Merritt Island, FL, formerly of Westmont, NJ at the age of 84. Loving husband of Fay Stohrer (Nee Edwards) of Merritt Island, FL, and the late Claire E. Stohrer (Nee Matthews).

Beloved father of Michael Stohrer & his wife Mary, of Philadelphia, PA. Timothy Stohrer of Walnut Creek, CA, Christopher Stohrer of Kansas City, KS. and the late Steven Stohrer and David Stohrer. Dear brother of Eugene Stohrer & his wife Nancy of Southampton, PA. Step-father of Luanne O’Brien of Westmont, NJ and Edward Edwards of Williamstown, NJ. Adoring grandfather to 7 grandchildren Isaac, Stephanie (with his great grandchild Juniper), Casey, Emma, Rachael, Elise and Caley. Also survived by his nieces & nephews, special sisters-in-law, May Moules and her husband Bob, and Adeline Santora.

Albert was born in Stuttgart, Germany on March 10, 1930. He was the older of two sons, born to Albert and Marie Stohrer. Albert went to Rider College. He and his father built Marlton Pike Precision Shop where he proudly worked for 50 years, before retiring in 1999. Albert and Claire were long time members of Westmont United Methodist Church, where they sang in the choir for many years. He was also a member of the Rotary Club. He lived a very active lifestyle; traveling, biking, skiing, rollerblading. He was an avid hiker, writer and poet. His true passion was for swimming. He swam 2000 meters 3 times a week, until his disease stopped him at age 80.

In 1999 Albert married Fay Edwards. Upon retirement, they moved to Merritt Island, FL. Albert and Fay had a very tender, loving, close relationship and enjoyed time with family and friends. They attended Calvary Chapel of Merritt Island. Albert passed quietly after battling Mesothelioma, for many years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration October 11, 2014 from 1P.M. to 3 P.M. at GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH, 23 Reeve Avenue, Westmont, NJ.
