Lorraine V. Eggleston

(Nee Hurd) On March 4, 2014, Age 101, a longtime resident of Haddonfield, NJ, died at Berkshire Commons Nursing Home in Reading, PA.
Daughter of the late Edward & Elmira (Hargis) Hurd of Westmont, NJ.
Married to the late John R. Eggleston.
Loving mother of Lorraine Riley, of Hillsville, VA, Elmira Weber of Cordova, MD, Clarence Eggleston of Clementon, NJ, William Eggleston of Birdsboro, PA, the late Joanne Deveney and John E. Eggleston.

Dear Grandmother of 17, Great Grandmother of 31 and Great-Great Grandmother of 4.


Lorraine started working at the Bell Telephone Company at 16 years old and remained there until she retired at the age of 65. She was a Camden Life Member of the McCully Chapter 81 of the Telephone Pioneers. Lorraine was also a former President of the local AARP and a Daughter of the American Revolution member. Her happiest times were with her family; whether it was in camping, fishing, family gatherings or just sitting around the kitchen table talking and singing.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her viewing Saturday 10:30 am – 12 pm at the JACKSON FUNERAL HOME, 308 Haddon Ave., Haddon Township, NJ 08108, funeral service will follow at 12pm.

Interment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.
