Charlotte R. Douse

(Nee Radler) On November 24, 2007, Age 80, of Westmont, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, PA. Beloved wife of Ernest L. Douse. Loving mother of Richard M. Douse (Cheryl) of Laurel Springs, NJ, Laurie L. Behrendt of Sparta, NJ, and Steven T. Douse (Diane) of Haddon Township, NJ. Dear Grandmother of Shannon, Kirsten, Matthew, Kyle, Sean, Ryan and Olivia. Charlotte graduated from Overbrook High School Class of 1944. She won the Parke Schock Award for excellence in Commercial Studies. She worked as a legal secretary for the Atlantic Refining Co. from 1944 thru 1955. She was a long time member of the Haddon Township PTA serving as president from 1972 – 1973. She was a member of County PTA (Camden), Character & Spiritual Life Chairman from 1974 – 1984, Scholarship Chairman and Founders Day Chairman in 1986. She was a member of Crystal Lake Senior Swimmers. She was a member of Tavistock Hills Swim Club from 1963 – 1990 and on the Board of Governors from 1965 – 1966. She was a member of various Bridge Clubs in South Jersey and Captain of Monday Bridge Club. She was a member of Moorestown Duplicate Bridge Players. She was a member of the Women’s Bridge League of S.J., Captain of Indian Springs Team and President from 1978 – 1979. She was an active member of the Grace Baptist Church since 1960 serving as the Church Clerk from 1975 and Church Secretary from 1978 to present. She also served on numerous committees within the church as well as teaching youth & adult Sunday school. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at Grace Baptist Church, 23 Reeve Ave., Westmont, NJ, 08108 where funeral services will follow at 11 AM. Interment, Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Grace Baptist Memorial Fund.
